Want to give a TED talk? You could get the chance on Oct. 19. TEDxCharleston is now accepting proposals for speakers who care to talk on the theme “tipping point.”
Curator of TEDxCharleston Edith Howle says, “Author Malcom Gladwell has defined the tipping point as ‘that magic moment when an idea, trend or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire.’ Over the past year, both locally and nationally, we have seen several moments that caused a great shift in our culture and actions. We want to dig into that idea and explore the force of those moments.”
TEDxCharleston is an immersion experience at the intersection of science, art, performance and business. It is designed to enrich the Charleston, South Carolina community through presentations and entertainment that inspires, engages and transforms. This independent TEDx event is operated under license from TED.

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com.
